2020 S3 Youth Speech Competition

                     Annual Renfrewshire Youth Speech Competition

                   Pan Renfrewshire Competition

Renfrewshire Speakers Club has, for many years, organised an inter-school Youth Speech Competition for S3 Students in schools in Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde. This takes the form of three Regional Competitions with the top Two Teams from each Region competing in a Grand Final for the John Richardson Trophy.

The 2020 Competition will be launched in schools just before the Summer Break and the Regional Competitions are usually help in mid October with the Grand Final in mid November.

Bearing in mind the competitors are the best six teams from all participating schools in East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire and Inverclyde, the standard is usually very high and makes it very difficult for the judges to select a Winner.

In 2019 the Winner of the John Richardson Trophy was St Ninian's High School from East Renfrewshire, and the Runners up were St Columba's High School from Inverclyde.

This competition is for S3 Students and this is consistent with the aims of Renfrewshire Speakers Club which is to develop Self Confidence, Communication Skills and the art of Speaking in Public, and to promote and develop proficiency in the spoken word.

The 2020 Competition Information Packs will be sent out to all schools in Renfrewshire in May - watch this space for information
